I believe that Sultan Baybars' Qur'an is one of the best examples expression through design. Every piece throughout the book was well crafted and beautifully intricate. The time and effort is extraordinary that was put into a flawless masterpiece.
The geometric shapes are perfectly aligned so that each page is a mirror of the other. The book opens from right to left leaving no error to the eye to suspect otherwise. The color and texture is blended nicely with other gold contrast of the page. Throughout the book, colors, geometric designs, and style are consistently shown.
Each page of the book showcases the importance of what the author was tying to get across. Some pages were more text than drawings. The deep hues of gold, maroon, and blue leave you to believe that this was written for the wealthy and powerful. The colors can also show the great pride that is taken in the picture as well as text written throughout.
